The course

The race course of the European Championships unfolds in the extended area of ​​Prato Pascolo, very close to the main entrance gate of La Mandria Park. The peculiarities of the track are many: the wide starting line, the main loop with a slight climb that leads to the Castello della Mandria and, at this point, the appealing entrance into the Castle itself, the crossing of the Galleria delle Carrozze of the Royal Apartments, to then go out and present to the spectators through the monumental door of the courtyard of honour.

The course runs out on a grass surface and with mud expected in the days of the race, except a short section run inside the ancient castle and crossing points over stony and concrete parts, which will have a synthetic grass surface fixed on a wood floor. The long lap of the course will also incorporate significant ascent and descent (with no technical difficulties but summing up 23m of altitude gain/loss within a 600m course segment). Due to the various surfaces the suggested length of the spikes should not exceed 12 mm.

The course will be open for training on Saturday 10 December between 10:00 and 12:00.
