The Championships

The under-23 Mediterranean Athletics Championships, scheduled on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June at "Armando Picchi" stadium in Jesolo, see the best under 23 athletes (born between 1996 and 2000) of the Mediterranean nations .

The under 23 Mediterranean Championships have a recent history: the event made its debut just four years ago with the aim of offering a new opportunity to experience for athletes close to compete at the best international events. The event is held every two years (in alternating seasons with the European Championships of the category): the first edition was held in Aubagne, France, in 2014. The last one was staged in Tunis in 2016.

There are 28 nations affiliated to the MAU (Mediterranean Athletics Union): besides Italy, there are Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Republic of Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, Monaco, Montenegro, Palestine, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Syria, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey.

About 400 athletes will participate in the two-days event, competing for 42 titles: 21 for men and the same for women.
