Rome Half Marathon Via Pacis - Rules

ORGANIZATION  

The Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL), at the invitation and under the patronage of Roma Capitale and the Pontifical Council for Culture, with the patronage of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI)are is the organizers of this road race event included in the FIDAL national calendar.

Half Marathon Km 21,097

Half Marathon non competitive 21.097K: for tourist/sporting purposes, open only to foreign citizens 

Km 5 (non competitive race)

 

PLACE AND TIMETABLE OF THE EVENT

The event will take place on 22 / 09 / 2019

Meeting point: 7:30 am at Piazza S. Pietro

Start time: Half Marathon 9:00 am

Start time: Non-competitive race 5Km 9:15 am

 

REGISTRATION OF ITALY-RESIDENT ATHLETES

Under the provisions of the "rules for the organization of events", issued by FIDAL, the race is open to athletes 18 years and older who are in possession of one of the following requirements:

  • Athletes registered in 2019 in clubs affiliated to FIDAL

  • Athletes possessing a Runcard (valid as sports insurance, and license to compete), limited to persons 20 years old and older. Participation is subject to:

  1. a) the presentation of a valid medical certificate specific to competitive athletics, which must be shown to the organizers in either original or a copy, for all events.

The medical certificate for non-resident foreign people can be made in their own country, but the same tests must be done under the provisions of the Italian law: a) medical examination; b) complete urine examination; c) ECG at rest and after effort; d) spirography.

  1. b) the check of the validity of a medical certificate specific to competitive athletics made by the organizer through Runcard database.

  2. c) the check of the validity of a medical certificate specific to competitive athletics made by the organizer through the app downloaded on any electronic device.

  • Athletes registered for a Sports Promotion Authority (Athletics Section), Runcard-EPS holders; the participation is subordinated, as well as to the possession of "RUNCARD":

  1. a) to the presentation of a valid medical certificate specific to competitive athletics, it must be shown to the organizers in the original, in copy, to the acts of the organizer of all events.

The medical certificate for non-resident foreign people can be made in their own Country, but the same tests must be done under the provisions of the Italian law: a) medical examination; b) complete urine examination; c) ECG at rest and after effort; d) spirography.

  1. b) to the check of the validity of a medical certificate specific to competitive athletics made by the organizer through Runcard database.

  2. c) to the check of the validity of a medical certificate specific to competitive athletics made by the organizer through the app downloaded on any electronic device.

  • PARALYMPIC ATHLETES: Athletes registered for CIP/FISPES - CIP/FISDIR – CIP/FSSI.

 

REGISTRATION OF NON-RESIDENT ATHLETES

Italian and foreign athletes not registered in Italy is limited to persons 18 years and older in possession of one of the following requirements:

  • Athletes with a membership for athletics with a club affiliated to a Foreign Athletics Federations recognized by the IAAF . As an alternative, during the Act of registration, they must show:

  • A self-certification of possession of the card recognized by the IAAF. The application form will then, however, be signed in original, at the moment of retiring the bib.

  • Athletes with Runcard (valid as sports insurance, and license to compete), limited to persons 20 years and older. Participation is subject to:

  1. a) the presentation of a valid medical certificate specific to competitive athletics, it must be shown to the organizers in the original, in copy, to the acts of the organizer of all events.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT

Registration can be done online on www.romahalfmarathon.org site and payment can be made with one of the methods below:

  • Payment by credit card (on this site romahalfmarathon.org)

  • Payment by Paypal

  • Bank transfer headed to FIDAL: indicating the surname and the name of the person being registered in the details.

PAYMENT FOR CLUBS

Clubs can send a single payment for registered athletes.

Together with the payment receipt, a list of athletes being registered must be sent together with the payment.

 

CLOSING AND REGISTRATION COSTS

Registrations for the competitive race must be made by midnight on  Thursday  , September 13, 2019.

For cardholders the entry fee is 

1/12/18 - 31/12/18 registration Via Pacis € 20.00

1/1/19 - 25/3/19 registration Via Pacis € 25.00

26/3/19 - 31/8/19 registration Via Pacis € 30.00

1/9/19 - 13/9/19 registration Via Pacis € 35.00

For non-cardholders the quotas above should be added € 15.00 for the Run Card

The registrations for the non-competitive race must be made on line by 6 p.m. Thursday 13 September 2019 and up to Saturday, September 21 at 6 p.m.  directly at the Rome Half Marathon Village Via Pacis.

The participation fee is not refundable. In case of documented impossibility to participate in the 3rd Rome Half Marathon Via Pacis the athlete can transfer the registration for the 2019 edition to another person by paying € 5.00 for administrative fees. The person registered as a replacement must pay a supplement for administrative fees of € 10.00 by 13 September 2019.

 
The transfer of the registration to another person, with the relative payment of the rights, must be formalized by sending all the documents useful for participation (articles 2 and 3)

For non-competitive race the entry fee is € 10,00.

 

NON-COMPETITIVE HALF MARATHON
Participation is reserved only for foreign citizens who are not registered with tourism / sporting purposes. Foreign citizens are not required to present a medical certificate but will have to sign an indemnity towards to the organizers. These participants will be sent on a starting grid at the end of the event with dedicated bibs, they will be entered in an alphabetical order of arrival distinct from the rankings of the competitive event and they will not be able to benefit from prizes in kind, cash, value vouchers, bonuses, engagements, reimbursement of expenses of any kind.

 

PICK UP OF THE BIBS AND RACE PACK.

Bibs and race packs can be collected from Friday 20 to Saturday, 21 September at the Rome Half Marathon village Via Pacis (Casa delle Armi, via dei Gladiatori, Rome). 

Pick-up of  race bibs and race packs  will not be available on Sunday morning.

 

BAG DEPOSIT

The organization provides a deposit for bags in the area close to the start and finish of the race.

 

TIMING AND FINAL RESULTS

The measurement of the times and the elaboration of the final results are validated by the Judge Technical Delegate / Judge of Appeal.

 

TIME LIMIT

The maximum time limit is set at 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Two gates will be set up:

  • Km 10: for anyone who does not pass within 1 hour 20 minutes;

  • Km 15: for anyone who does not pass within 2 hours.

All athletes who will pass after these times will continue following the rules of the road

All athletes ranked within the maximum time will be given a medal on arrival.

 

AWARDS

The top 10 men and top 10 women finishers, the first 3 m / w in each category provided for by FIDAL will be awarded . The award ceremony of the top 10 men and top 10 women will be at 11:00 am, the awards of the first 3 m / w in each category at 11.30. There are no cash prizes

 

COMPLAINTS

Any complaints must be submitted in compliance with the rules of FIDAL and R.T.I.

 

FINAL WARNINGS

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to modify these rules at any time for reasons it deems appropriate for a better organization of the race.For matters not covered by these regulations, please apply the statutory technical regulations of FIDAL and G.G.G.. Any changes to services, venues and times will be communicated to registered athletes or will be posted on the website www.romahalfmarathon.org. In addition, the documentation containing the information required for taking part in the race will be handed out alongside the bib by the organization.
