Tomorrow, 10,000 runners on the streets of Rome

They will be at the via 10,000 Italian marathoners and other 88 nations. Departure at 8.35 from Via dei Foro Imperiali. Thousands of participants are also expected to the Stracittadina. 

Tomorrow, Sunday, April 7, will be held the XXV ACEA International Marathon in Rome, the running event organized by the Italian Federation of Athletics and Rome Capital included in the FIDAL calendar with Gold classification and in that IAAF which Silver Label Road Race.

The start of the marathon is fixed at 8.35 (at 8.30 will open with the race of the disabled) in Via dei Foro Imperiali, at Largo Corrado Ricci, and the arrival will always be via dei Fori Imperiali just before the intersection with via Cavour. The competitive test of 42.195 km is combined with the non-competitive Stracittadina of 5 km, which will always depart in Via dei Foro Imperiali to follow since the last departure of the three waves of the marathon, and end up inside the Circus Maximus.

At the beginning, on the gallery of honour there will be the Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi, the President of the FIDAL Alfio Giomi, the State Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with delegation to the relations with the Parliament and to the direct democracy Simone Valente, The Councillor for Sport, youth Policies and Big events Citizens Daniele Frongia, the General Coordinator of the marathon Fabio Martelli and the swimming Olympian Gregory Paltrinieri.

At the starting line there will be 10,000 runners. In detail, will be 7080 Italians and 2920 foreigners from 88 different countries. Regarding Italy, Lazio is the most represented region with 2657 subscribers, of which 2283 from Rome and the province, followed by Lombardy with 652, Puglia with 480, Emilia Romagna with 448, Campania with 415, Veneto with 402, Toscana with 382, Piedmont with 304 and Abruzzo With 290. The most represented foreign nations, however, are France with 804 subscribers, Great Britain with 278, Spain with 262, Germany with 198 and the United States with 161. The men enrolled are 7966, women 2034.

At the Stracittadina of 5 kilometres is expected to have thousands of participants.

The race will be broadcast on Sunday 7 April in deferred on RaiSport, starting from 10:40 p.m.
