Rules

The Italian Federation of Athletics, at the invitation and with the patronage of Rome Capital, organizes the XXV Acea Maratona Internazionale di Roma. The race is part of the calendar FIDAL (Italian Federation of Athletics), with a GOLD classification.

The event will take place on 07 / 04 / 2019 on a certified distance of 42.195 km.

Art. 1) REGISTRATION FOR ATHLETES HOLDING A MEMBERSHIP CARD OF ITALIAN ATHLETIC FEDERATION

On the basis of what is provided by the "Rules for the organization of events" issued by FIDAL, only athletes holding a membership card of Italian Athletic Federation from 20 years of age onwards (millesimal), in possession of one of the following requirements may participate to the event:

a) athletes holding a membership card for the year 2019 with associations affiliated to FIDAL;
b) athletes holding Runcard. Participation is however subject to:

the presentation of a medical certificate of fitness for competitive sports specific for athletics, still valid, which must be presented to the event organizers in original and kept in copy, in the records of the organising Company. The medical certificate for foreigners non-residents can be issued in their country, but the athletes must undergo the same tests provided for by the Italian legislation: a) medical examination; b) full urine examination; c) electrocardiogram at rest and after effort; d) spirometry.
the verification by the organizer of the validity of a medical certificate of fitness for competitive sports specific for athletics through the Runcard database.
the verification by the organizer of the validity of a medical certificate of fitness for competitive sports specific for athletics through the app downloaded on any electronic means.

C) athletes holding a membership card of a Sports Promotion Associations (Sect. Athletics), in possession of Runcard EPS;

the presentation of a medical certificate of fitness for competitive sports specific for athletics, still valid, which must be presented to the event organizers in original and kept in copy, in the records of the organising Company of each event. The medical certificate for foreigners non-residents can be issued in their country, but the athletes must undergo the same tests provided for by the Italian legislation: a) medical examination; b) full urine examination; c) electrocardiogram at rest and after effort; d) spirometry.

Art. 2) REGISTRATION FOR ATHLETES HOLDING A MEMBERSHIP CARD OF NON-ITALIAN ATHLETIC FEDERATIONS

Athletes who are not resident in Italy, from 20 years of age onwards (millesimal) may participate if in possession of one of the following requirements:

Athletes holding Runcard. The participation is subject to the presentation of a medical certificate of fitness for competitive sports specific for athletics, still valid, which must be presented to the event organizers in original and kept in copy, in the records of the organising Company.

The medical certificate for foreigners non-residents (the model is available for download at the following link:http://www.fidal.it/upload/files/Organizzazione/2017/inglese_3.pdf http://www.fidal.it/upload/files/Organizzazione/2017/francese_2.pdf) can be issued in their country, but the athletes must undergo the same tests provided for by the Italian legislation: a) medical examination; b) full urine examination; c) electrocardiogram at rest and after effort; d) spirometry.

Athletes with club card, valid for 2019, holding a membership card of non-Italian Athletics Federations recognised by IAAF. At the moment of the registration they must submit a copy of the card or alternatively the self-certification of possession of the card recognized by IAAF.

Art. 3) REGISTRATION PARALYMPIC ATHLETES

All athletes holding a membership card of the following Paralympic Sports Federation recognized by the CIP for the sport season 2019 can participate for free: FISPES.

Art. 7) CLOSING OF ENTRIES

It is fixed for the 25 March 2019.

Art. 8) TRANSFERRING THE REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee is not refundable. In case of documented impossibility to participate in the XXV Acea Maratona Internazionale di Roma the athlete will be able to transfer his/her registration for the Edition 2019 to another person. The person registered in replacement must pay a supplement for the administrative rights:

€ 10,00 by 31 January 2019
€ 15,00 by 25 March 2019

The transfer of registration to another person, with the related payment of the rights, should be formalised by sending all the documents required for the participation (art. 2 and 3)

Art. 9) RACE BIB ASSIGNMENT

The race bib number will be assigned after the completion of the registration process, on the basis of the declaration of the record (PB) realized in the last 2 years. The organization reserves the right to carry out checks on records declared. On the basis of the race bib assigned, on the morning of the Marathon it will be possible to access the starting areas provided.

The rankings are validated by the Technical Delegate Judge/Appeal Judge and will be published on the websitewww.maratonainternazionalediroma.it

It is assigned per position in the standings, it can be combined with the General Prize. The prize will not be awarded for chronometric performance higher than 2h30'00 for men and higher than 2h55'00 for women.

The first three men and the first three women classified, Italians and disabled, will be rewarded with protocol prizes on the day of the race.

No prize money (or similar: generic vouchers, bonuses, reimbursement of expenses of any kind and to any title) can be provided for holders of "Runcard" and "Runcard EPS".

The prizes will be paid within 90 days and unless doping test results.

Art. 12) COMPLAINTS

Complaints must be made in compliance with FIDAL and R.T.I. rules.

Art. 13) FINAL GUIDELINES

The Italian Federation of Athletics reserves the right to modify these rules at any time for reasons considered appropriate for a better organization of the race. For matters not expressly provided for in this Regulation the technical standards statutory of FIDAL and G.G.G. are valid. Any changes to services, places and times will be properly communicated to the athletes registered on the internet site www.maratonainternazionalediroma.it Moreover, the documentation containing the essential information to participate in the race will be delivered by the organization together with the race bib number.

Art.14) “THE STRACITTADINA”

The recreational event, not competitive and without ranking, open to all will start immediately after the departure of the marathon. The path will be all in the historical centre of Rome and will be 5 kilometres long. The registration fee is 10 Euro.

Art.15) FAILURE TO CARRY OUT

If the race is cancelled, moved to another date and/or anyway, not carried out for reasons not depending and/or not referable to the will of the Organization, including the withdrawal of the authorisation on the part of the competent public authorities, the person registered cannot claim anything from the organization, not even by way of reimbursement of the costs incurred and those foreseeable being the application subscribed also valid as a waiver of any claim for damages and/or compensation and/or of any alleged indemnifying and/or releasing claim of a possible financial damage incurred and foreseeable.

Art.16) RIGHT OF IMAGE

By registering to the XXV Acea Maratona Internazionale di Roma the athlete expressly authorises the organization, together with the legal entities with which it has professional and commercial relations related and connected to filming the event, to the free acquisition of the right to use the still or moving images on which they may appear, taken on the occasion of their participation in the XXV Acea Maratona Internazionale di Roma, on all visual aids and promotional materials and/or advertising products and spread throughout the world and throughout the maximum time provided for by the laws, regulations and treaties in force, including the possible extension that can be made to the planned period.

Art.17) LIABILITY AND PRIVACY

By registering to the XXV Acea Maratona Internazionale di Roma the athlete declares to entirety know and accept the present Regulation and to exempt the organisers from any liability, both civil and criminal, for damage to persons and/or things caused by him/her or derived to him/her. Athletes will have to comply with the traffic rules.

In addition, the athlete declares that he/she is not aware of any past medical condition or injury that may put him /her at risk in the course of the event.

Before registration the athlete is required to take vision of documentation on the protection of privacy, available on the internet site www.maratonainternazionalediroma.it during the registration process and to express his/her consent to the processing of personal data in the manner foreseen.
